Changes to OFI (Order Flow Imbalance) ProcessingStating on December 12, 2003, the OFI information received from the CBOT will be processed on a different server. To receive this information in the future, you must change your IP address in the Capital Flow 32 Communication Settings dialog to "www.steidlmayersoftware.com" and download a new program version using the "Download Latest Version" function in Capital Flow 32 (this function again works with the new IP, after having been non-functional for a time). To automatically receive the OFI information in Capital Flow 32, you must select the "Check for LDB/OFI After Date Updates" checkbox in the Settings / Communication Settings dialog (under the IP address text box). Capital Flow will then automatically check for all new OFI files on an "Update All Contracts" request (from and feed) and for individual contracts on a "F12" update (single contract). The reason for the checkbox is simply to avoid a problem for people with stand-alone feeds and no internet connection. If you wish to "force update" a particular contract's OFI information, open the contract and right-click on the contract page, selecting the "Update OFI Info This Contract" context menu item. This will download the latest available OFI information for this contract ONLY. There are several other changes to the way the Capital Flow 32 program handles the OFI data. The contracts will now be automatically processed if the information starts appearing in the CBOT file. For instance, there are now several 2005 contracts appearing in the file which had not previously been being processed. To receive information for these contracts, simply activate the contract in Capital Flow 32. |
