Steidlmayer Software Information for Microsoft Internet Explorer

Capital Flow 32 is a 32 bit program that requires recent system files from Microsoft to be loaded on the users computer. One of the easiest ways to get some of the recent system files is to load the current version of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Other system files that Capital Flow 32 requires are distributed on the CD version of our program. Users who download a new build of Capital Flow 32 in most cases will also receive updated system files where applicable, but where a user has allowed a long period of time to elapse between Capital Flow 32 updates, a problem could arise with some system files no longer being included in the current download install. This is usually because of time and space restrictions associated with the fact that many users may be accessing our site with older, slower modems.

Steidlmayer Software, Inc. is a licensed distributor of Microsoft Internet Explorer, and we try to distribute the most recent version available on the CD distribution of Capital Flow 32. We are currently distributing version 5.0 (full version, not the beta). If an option to install Internet Explorer does not appear when you place the Capital Flow 32 CD in the drive, you may need to go to the Windows Explorer and start the install manually. Browse the CD and find the file named "ie5setup.exe", then double-click the file to start the installation.

In addition to the current system files, Capital Flow 32 requires some parts of Internet Explorer to display the help system included with our program, and to utilize the Internet Download capability for contract data updates.

Microsoft Internet Explorer vs. Netscape Navigator

Some customers have asked whether installing Microsoft Internet Explorer means that they will have to use it for their web surfing. The answer is no - Capital Flow 32 only requires the system files and some Internet Explorer components. If you wish to continue using Netscape Navigator (or Opera or another browser) continue to do so. At some point the installation program for Microsoft Internet Explorer may ask if you would like to make it your default web browser. If you would like to continue to use your other browser, simply answer no.

Windows NT Users Note

Users of Microsoft Windows NT will need to log on as the Administrator account to properly install the system files to their machines. NT security will not allow installation of system files when the user is not logged on with Administrator privileges. You may need to talk to your system administrator if you are unfamiliar with these concepts.
